Went to the race track yesterday. I got four of my friends to go with me (G35, SLK320, SLK350, S4 and my TT). We had a blast.
The morning was instructional (none of us had graduated from this particuliar racing school and we hadn't been on the new addition to the track that was just built in february).
The afternoon, we were on the track racing. I can't begin too express how thrilling it was. When I got home my hands were still shaking with adrenaline.
And let me tell you. The next time someone says that race car drivers are not athletes, they do not know what they are taliking about. My back muscles are killing me. My forearms are sore. And my hands are calloused.
What an event. I would have written about it yesterday, but I had a hard time staying awake past eight pm. The other reason is that I am just getting over the fact that my friends in the SLK320, SLK350 and G35 passed me. argh. I was able to hold off the S4, but I am not sure how. Incidently, the SLK320 did not actually pass me, but I was "black flagged" for not letting him by. I was amazed that no matter how fast I thought I was going, he was still right behind me.
It really was exciting. I do wish I hadn't sworn off the exclaimation mark so many years ago. What the heck? Here goes. "!"
Oh, yeah, an STI passed me too. But he was stage 2 and I never had a chance. I had no problems keeping up with the WRX version.
On a good note. I passed a C5 twice and a 911 once. Don't ask me how, but I did.
There, this is out of the way. I have shared my weekend and admitted (this was the hard part) that I was out performed by several of my friends.
Thanks for reading. I just wanted to share this.
