Question #15
You are in a life boat. Ten miles of rough sea are between you and land. There are twelve of you in the life boat. The life boat can only transport ten people or it will ride too low and begin to take on water. There are nine healthy men aboard. One sick man. One woman. And one child.
Even if the sea were calm, you calculate it would still be nearly impossible to row to shore.
The island is not charted. You know it may be months before you are found; that is, if you even make it to the island. There will be a lot of work on the island to ensure survival.
Question:
What can you do to ensure that you get to safety? Is your decision moral? Is it immoral? Why? Does it matter?
